Old Mill: In continuous operation since 1830, this historic structure and its 24-foot wheel generated electricity for Pigeon Forge until 1930. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the mill is one of the city’s most photographed locations. Hollywood Motion Picture Museum: Film star and accomplished collector of movie memorabilia Debbie Reynolds plans to open this impressive museum in 2005. The collection, valued at more than $50 million and estimated to be the largest private collection of Hollywood memorabilia in the world, contains more than 3,500 costumes and tens of thousands of props, movie posters, still photos, lobby cards and other items. Original film clips relating to the artifacts comprise another important part of the collection.
Darrell Waltrip Racing Experience: Three-time NASCAR Winston Cup champion and FOX Sports analyst Darrell Waltrip is behind the wheel of a $5 million motor racing-themed attraction. It features components such as an interactive theatre, competition radio-controlled cars, a racing car simulator, pit crew area, an arcade, and both permanent and rotating exhibits. Numerous stock cars, including some of Waltrip’s winning rides, will be displayed.
