More about Pigeon Forge

Continued from Home Page...

Accommodations have undergone a startling change. From a rather primitive row of stone cabins along the riverbanks in the early 1930s, the hotel and motel rooms number more than 8,000 today. There are more than 600 cottages, condos, cabins and villas. Fourteen campgrounds are equipped with features such as laundry rooms, swimming pools and arcades.

Fast food to family style to upscale dining are included in the mix of restaurants. Locally owned and operated restaurants, regional chains and themed restaurants make up the choices available to hungry travelers.

Today, more than 40 attractions line the Parkway--from miniature golf, go-carts and bumper boats to water rides, laser games and even an indoor skydiving simulator. Even history is fun with entertaining and educational exhibits on display at Carbo's Police Museum, Dinosaur Walk Museum, Elvis Museum, Veterans Memorial Museum and the Smoky Mountain Car Museum.

In addition to the fun-filled attractions, Pigeon Forge is home to music, magic and variety. The city's theaters present all styles of music, high-energy dancing and magical illusions. You’ll see amazing horsemanship, racing ostriches, mind-reading-pigs, fire-eaters, jugglers and the best Elvis impersonator this side of Graceland!

Just as Pigeon Forge today stands proudly on its legendary history, it also looks forward to the unfolding of its future as a lively, constantly growing tourism mecca for as long as the Smokies entice visitors to the natural beauty found in their peaks and valleys.
